This journey inwards uses prompts from journal/poetry writing (I know it's a little scary... but there's a poem lurking inside of each of us, there really is!), photography and mixed media to explore a deeper sense of self. In each class, we will use the photos and journal and/or poetry writing created in homework assignments to create a mixed-media piece that furthers your self-awareness and self-expression.
Explore both the external you, and the you who sits just below the surface; Who are you? What (and who) is important to you? What are your worries, your fears? Where is your safe place, your place of rejuvenation? Where have you been? Where are you headed? (I know looking to the past can cause some trepidation, but know that you decide how far back you look, and how long you visit). Cause it's hard to know where you're going unless you know where you've been!
It's a road trip of sorts; we'll do some sight seeing and pickup some souvenirs along the way. We'll take the road less travelled, the scenic route, the contemplative route. Not sure where we're we'll end up, but it promises to be exciting!
We're ready to hit the road. You coming?
Who could benefit from this workshop?
Both those interested in connecting with a deeper sense of self, and those wanting a way to express themselves creatively will thoroughly enjoy this workshop!
